So you were definitely more yourself. We went to see the doctor, as instructed by the emergency doctor, last Wednesday. He checked your throat and saw some white spots on your tonsils. It could mean you were just fighting a virus or you had strep throat. To be on the safe side, he prescribed you antibiotics to take. We just got the call today (Monday) that it was negative for strep, so you will be on the medication for 7 days instead of 10. Your appetite had continued to increase (unless you're busy playing) and you continue to be a monkey.
Now that you've got the knack of crawling, you are using the furniture to help you stand on your own as well as make your way to the ground without always falling in your bum. (Your technique is to lower yourself into almost a split, then put your hand down to bring yourself the rest of the way.) But now that you can stand, that's what you love doing all day long. Sure you'll crawl places, you're favourite being the front window, but then you pull yourself up using the table or grabbing the windowsill and then stand there and look outside. I worried more before you learned how to go down by yourself (see above), but I still need to keep an eye on you as you pull everything you can get your hands on.
Even putting you in your crib for a nap had been interesting. You tend to crawl around, then pull yourself up to stand and suck on the furniture before you let yourself find a comfortable spot to put your head down (and bum up) to sleep. However, you love standing so much, that last Friday you brought yourself to the corner of the crib, stood up then crossed your arms on the edge with your head rested on your arms and tried to sleep standing up. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it!
This past weekend, you have demonstrated again what an amazing girl you are. Nana and Grandad had the chance to babysit you while Daddy and I went to see a movie with Uncle Dave. They had a great time with you. Then on Sunday, you had your baptism. You looked great in your outfit (Mommy's baptismal gown) and did so well with all the attention and people. You were fantastic, even though Mommy and Daddy were sick (we caught a bad sinus cold). When you got home from the event, you kept yourself busy playing around the living room for over an hour, complete with trying to climb on the retractable tunnel we got from Nana and Grandad. (It was funny to watch it roll with you, we wished we got it on camera.)
You continue to surprise us every day, with your charming smiles that melt our hearts, your wet kisses you are beginning to give, the joy you share in clapping your hands for us, and waving (including at Daddy when he went to leave for work). You are a constant joy in our life and we are so blessed to have you!
