I feel horrible for not writing anything on here in a while, but you are definitely a very busy bee! You have gone from an ever increasing vocabulary to stringing together a few words to make simple sentences (e.g. "Daddy's home", "Mommy doing?", "I see you", "Zaven help"). We definitely have to watch what we say around you as you parrot us with quite accuracy (e.g. calling out "Seb" with the same inflection as Nanny). You have gone from counting to 10, to counting to 13 out counting objects (like the stars on your wall) and stopping at the correct number... Sometimes.
You run with a speed that surprises us, making it difficult for Nonno to catch you. You are climbing stairs with more confidence, and rejecting help at times when offered.
You love puzzles: wood ones you can do independently, shape ones that require some assistance, and the farm puzzle on the tablet. Speaking of the tablet, you had a ritual for some time that had you watching "Little Baby Bum" and the wheels on the bus every night when you came home from daycare. Not sure if you've moved on yet, but Mommy is happy for the break.
You love music and clocks, so Nanny and Nonno bought you a musical clock for Christmas, which you absolutely love. Speaking of Christmas, you seemed to enjoy opening up gifts this year, although we staggered them across a few days because we couldn't figure out how to have you open and enjoy them before going onto the next. You were definitely spoiled this year. One of your favourite toys is a hippo you got from Tita Catherine and Tito Mark. Heck, it was the hit of the open house party we had in January with Daddy's friends who haven't seen you since you were born.
You are also beginning to possibly understand that Mommy is having a baby (who should be arriving shortly after your 2nd birthday). Your Daddy and I are a bit worried you will wake the baby up when it's sleeping, the same way you do when we pretend to sleep (by yelling something close to "wake up Lachy" and hitting us). It will mean a lot of changes, including getting rid of your trampoline (i.e. the bed in what will be your sibling's room). I guess we will have to wait and see.
You have developed a love for swimming... Although it didn't start off that way. When you first started your lessons in September, you cried the whole lesson and chattered like a crazy person. You clung into Daddy, crying his name repeatedly. As the lessons continued, you cried less, and by the end you enjoyed jumping into the pool and going down the slide. You are now in your second round of swimming and you look forward to it, sometimes hoping to go every day... So that is a nice switch (although you still hate being on your back).
